The turtle in China is a symbol of longevity, strength and endurance. Lockard claims that it was based on a Chinese game called “the Turtle”. The computer game “Mahjong Solitaire” was originally created by Brodie Lockard in 1981. The game didn't make its way across the Atlantic to the USA until 1870 where it became known as “Klondike Solitaire”, then just “Solitaire”.
